Darleen Meier designs simple, elegant jewelry pieces. This initial necklace is one of my favorites. So simple yet it adds the right amount of finish to any outfit. I’m loving the simple, no-fuss jewelry trend right now.

Hunter boots // J.Crew leggings // Madewell striped dress (sold out, but this ASOS dress is similar)  // Forever 21 leopard coat (on sale!) // J.Crew bracelet // Amazon watch // J.Crew lipstick // Essie “canyon coral” nail polish

Sometimes rainy days and new cities just need a ridiculous coat. And red boots.

Tres Cool. The name of my Christmas outfit. The sweater is very easy-going and can be worn with leggings, jeans, trousers, or even dressed up with a skirt. Plus, it’s a good conversation starter. Everyone has to ask why you’re “tres cool.”

Winter Neutrals

We had family pictures taken and then Jt wanted to take my picture. This blog may seem like it is just me, but Jt is almost a bigger driver behind than I am. Both of our hobbies combine here and it’s pretty fun working together.

I love a fur collar on my coat in the winter- it produces cozy and glamorous feelings all at the same time. It was a little too cold to wear flats, but sometimes you have to match your necklace… and then I remembered why practicality comes first in Idaho winter. Purple feet people.

{P.S. If you are interested in my necklace, email me and I can order one for you!}

I’m trying a new layout with more options to shop the look. What do you think? Do you like having options or do you prefer to just know the exact piece?

Christmas Plaid

I pulled out the Christmas plaid to celebrate the first Sunday of Advent. It felt very festive.  Although, when I sat down in church, the middle-aged man in front of me might have been wearing the exact shirt. Plaid is one of those classics that apply to any stage of life.  You just have to wear like you own it. He was not pairing plaid with a crystal necklace so we weren’t exactly twins.

Leopard Goodness

I ordered these pants to take to Europe, but they didn’t come in time. Instead, it was a fun surprise to come home to them waiting on the front porch! And, they feel like I’m wearing pajama pants… crazy awesome leopard pajama pants. The waist is elastic coupled with a drawstring which is what cues pajama in my mind. Since the pattern is bold, I paired the pants with a simple black tunic and black wedges. Very easy to dress up or down!

After the husband took these pictures, we went and warmed up with fresh hot cider at a coffeeshop and watched the snow come down. We even brought Vincent because it felt so Christmasy.

Sailor Style

We absolutely loved cruising through Europe and would highly recommend it. It felt like we went on two trips- one where we toured Europe and one where we didn’t have a care in the world. It’s amazing seeing all the sights, watching history come alive, and experiencing another culture, but let’s be honest, it can be intense. Walking for hours each day, being on your guard so you don’t get lost, miss the cruise, pick-pocketed, or do something “American” that could be offensive can add up. (A very cautious couple in our group was pick-pocketed and lost $1000 and a couple people did get left at some of the ports.) So, coming back to the cruise where they wait on you hand and foot, pick up your room twice a day (I mean not only make the bed, but fold all your clothes and organize your shoes!) and serve you three course meals every night was a welcomed treat (read, totally spoiled). We could really relax and prep for our next day of sight-seeing.

We had a couple days at sea so we were able to snap this outfit post. It certainly helps to have a husband who LOVES taking pictures.

Forever 21 jeans // Jcrew tee- old, another ASOS graphic I like// Forever 21 blazer (I added the gold button) // Italian scarf (similar here) // Mephisto boots (they are inexpensive in Italy) // sunglasses // Jcrew bracelets

When you want a comfortable and chic look, go for a loose chambray top paired with black leggings. Because when it is the middle of the week, sometimes you just need to get cozy.
